Erin Michelle Merritt, 17, died Monday, July 14, 2008, in Benton. She was born Dec. 16, 1990, in Little Rock. Erin previously attended Greenbrier High School then relocated to the Benton-Bryant area. Survivors include her newborn son, Hunter Merritt; her mother, Kimberly Simpson of Benton; her father and stepmother, Brent and Jennifer Merritt of Greenbrier; four siblings, Shelly and Nathan Hall and Arielle and Damia Merritt; and her grandparents, great-grandparents and uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. A celebration of Erin’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Dial & Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant. Burial will be in Collegeville Cemetery. Family comments: Erin will be most remembered by her friends and family for her curiosity and zest for life, as well as her passion to voice her opinion. She was bright, outgoing, fun-loving, had boundless energy and an enthusiasm for martial arts, music and was like all teenage girls and boys. Erin passed away due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
