Iris Eloise Romeo, 80, of Benton died Wednesday, July 16, 2008.
She was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Saline County.
Ms. Romeo was a retired bookkeeper for the Saline County Sheriff’s Office and a member of New Friendship Baptist church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude L. and Pearl Sutton; a daughter, Jo Beth Romeo; a sister, Lelsie Hicks; and two brothers, Dude and Dolan Sutton.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra K. Romeo and Marilyn A. Moraino, both of Benton; two sisters, Mavis Laber of North Dakota and Marilyn Applegate of Alabama; a brother, Doise Sutton of Benton; a grandson, Ian J. Moraino of New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at New Friendship Cemetery. The Rev. Randy Ward will officiate.
Pallbearers are Armond Hicks, Ronnie Sutton, Lance Hicks, Lynn Hicks, Larry Sutton and Brandon Sutton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Ashby Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Saline Memorial Hospice or the New Friendship Cemetery Fund.
