Ronald Childress, 60, left, and Richard Buckelew, 68, both of Benton, prepare to interview for a Discovery Channel show that will focus on aluminum ore mining and include an episode involving bauxite mining in Saline County. Buckelew and Childress both said they worked in underground mining for Reynolds Metals Co. in Bauxite during the 1960s and 1970s. Both said they were also born and raised in Bauxite. Randall Shuptrine of Chattanooga, Tenn., who is the producer of the show, said he is under contract with Jupitar Entertainment and will present the show to the Discovery Channel after editing. “The working title of the show is called ‘Commodities,’” Shuptrine said. “We are shooting the program now and, hopefully, it will begin running in the fall.”
