Tenth annual Taste of Bryant is Tuesday E-mail
Tuesday, 29 July 2008
Today last day to buy advance priced tickets Today is the last chance to purchase advance $10 adult tickets for the 10th Annual Taste of Bryant, said Rae Ann Fields, executive director of the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce.
The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bryant High School Cafeteria South Campus. It will feature food from as many as 30 area restaurants providing sample portions of their latest menu items.
“Today is the last day to get tickets at that price,” Fields said. “After 5 p.m., people can leave a voice mail through today and ask for the advance tickets. However, tomorrow, we won’t be in the office as we’ll be setting up for the event, so they need to get them today if possible.”
Tickets will still be available at the door on the day of the event for $15 for adults and $5 for children. Children 5 and younger may eat free.
Taste of Bryant, which is a major fundraiser for the chamber, also will feature a silent auctio. Organizers said they expect a record crowd at the event.
“This showcase of foods will be many people’s first introduction to many new restaurants, bakeries, caterers and coffee houses in the area,” Fields said. “[Taste of Bryant] is just a fun, laid-back family event.”
“Food is the focus of this event,” Koder said, “but all of the silent auction items are attracting a lot of attention, too. We’ve seen some clever businesses donate something when they expand into sales of a new product. They put the product in the silent auction, people come by and see it, and people begin commenting. That’s instant awareness.”
An added feature will be a Bryant 20/20 Power Point presentation. The presentation is set to run so that people may view it at their leisure, Fields said.
“This show will chronicle the 1999-2000 Bryant 20/20 town hall meetings and document the results,” she said.
To order advance tickets, call the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce at 847-4702.
Following are restaurants and other food vendors planning to participate: Burger King; Cakery Affairs; Chick-fil-a; Chili’s; Cock of the Walk; Colton’s Steakhouse; Cracker Barrel; Dinner’s Ready Catering; Dizzy’s Grill; Domino’s Pizza; Gabe’s Grill.; High on the Hog BBQ; Home Plate Diner; Luigi’s Pizza and Pasta; McAlister’s Deli; Moe’s Southwest Grill; Pizza Hut; Pizza Inn; Quiznos Sub; Sonic; Starbucks; Ta Molly’s; Taco Bell; Taste of D’Light; Waffle House; Woodside Coffee; and Whippersnappers Candy.
