Gerald L. “Pops” Harrison, 82, died Monday, July 28, 2008, at Saline Memorial Hospice. He was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Eminence, Mo. to George Washington and Lillie Pearl Lawson Harrison. Mr. Harrison was a painter in the construction business and sold produce in Benton, was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Benton. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Winnie; six sons, Larry of Park Hills, Mo., Travis and wife Connie of Park Hills, Mo., Thomas, Dennis, Timmy and wife Nannette and Butch and wife Renee, all of Benton; two daughters, Connie Smith and husband Dale of Park Hills, Mo., and Janis Massey of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Bill Harrison and wife Francis; one sister, Warna Lucas of Farmington, Mo.; eight grandsons; three granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; one uncle, Paul Lawson of Eminence, Mo.; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the funeral home with Bro. Burl Crabtree officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Bayou Cemetery at New De Roche, Ark.
