William Douglas Wood, 42, of East End died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008. He was born Dec. 11, 1965, in Little Rock to Carroll Douglas Wood and Marjorie Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his children, Samantha Nicole Logan, Sara Ann Wood and Justin Douglas Wood, all of Little Rock; a sister, June Ragland and husband Raymond of Florida; a brother, Frank Winburn and wife Lizzie of California; and a neice, Paige Winburn of California. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pinecrest Memorial Park with the Rev.. Jeff Jones officiating. He will lie in state from noon to 9 p.m. today at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home in Little Rock. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m today at the Family Life Center of the Sardis United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the children’s educational fund at Metropolitan National Bank. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Tabitha and family. His pride and joy every day of his life were his children, Samantha, Sara and Justin. He was a wonderful father, who awakened every morning to see the enchanting faces of his children and experience the joy of everyday life with them. He loved taking his family fishing. He spent many days on the banks of the water laughing and loving life with Sam, Sara, Justin, Bubba, Trenton, Alek and Kassie. He attended Catholic School for boys in Little Rock. At age 13 he went through confirmation. He experienced a great admiration for Father Tribou and made many lifelong friends. He was an active member of Sardis United Methodist Church and a member of the Sunday school class “His Family.” He loved attending church with his family. He followed in his father’s footsteps and became a painter. He built his business, WW Painting , from the ground up. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting of all kinds. He also spent many days boating with the family and teaching the children about the outdoors. |
