Jacob M. ‘Big Jake’ Weldon E-mail

Jacob M. “Big Jake” Weldon, 29, of Malvern died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs.  
He was born Dec. 6, 1978, in Malvern to John and Brenda Weldon.
Mr. Weldon was a deputy with the Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Office and the Saline County Sheriff's Office. He was a member of Third Baptist Church and was attending New Beginnings Church.  
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Jennifer Cessor and husband Jay; his grandmother, Betty Weldon; a nephew, Justin; three nieces, Kyah, Chelcee and Shea; an aunt, Debbie Meeks and husband Ricky; two uncles, Jimmy Anderson and wife Gloria and Jimmy Weldon; nine cousins, T.J., Chance and Jade Meeks, Karen and Lori Brown and Lindsey, Mandy, Heather and Justin Anderson; and many friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern with the Rev. Scott Efird officiating. Burial will be in Harp Cemetery.
Pallbearers are officers with the Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Office, Rockport Police Department and Arkansas State Police.
Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Baker, Johathan Garrett, John Olson, Lucas Langley, Dr. Ab and Laura Tilley, Ed Costello and the staff at Pinnacle Physicians Group, Doug Young, Baylor University doctors and staff, Hippy Hollow Club, Malvern Police Department and Hot Spring County Courthouse employees.  
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Family comments: Jake was a friend to anyone he met, as was shown by the support given to him during his battle with cancer. He loved riding his Harley. He will be missed not only by his family, but by the entire community. The family would like to give special thanks to the Malvern and Hot Spring County community for all of their support.
