Maxine Swilling Davenport, 74, of Benton died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born May 2, 1934, in Grapevine to Rudy and Edis Swilling. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Cledis Davenport, whom she married Sept. 8, 1951, in Sheridan; two daughters, Pat Loper and husband Mike of Loveland, Colo., and Melinda Butzlaff and husband Jim of Bryant; four grandchildren, Tracey Loper and Bradley Loper of Loveland, Colo., and Kevin Butzlaff and Kendall Butzlaff of Bryant; a brother, Virgil Swilling and wife Jenny of Sheridan; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and cousins. Funeral service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan. Burial will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church or Lost Creek Cemetery Association.
