Weather alert radios top Quorum Court items E-mail

Saline County Quorum Court will consider numerous business items when it meets today.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in courtroom 1 at the courthouse in Downtown Benton.
The first item of business is a resolution authorizing County Judge Lanny Fite to apply for a grant on behalf of the Turtle Creek and Salem communities for weather alert radios.
Justices of the peace will consider the following appropriation ordinances:
•$47,619.54 for tower foundation at the Office of Emergency Management and plumbing for the generator for complex maintenance.
•$19,676.24 for the federal arrest and protection grant program. Funds are for the prosecuting attorney’s office, sheriff’s office and Safe Haven women’s shelter.
•$22,423.48 for the federal grant to address domestic and sexual violence against women.
•$17,216 for another federal grant to address domestic and sexual violence against women.
•$14,018 for part-time help in the collector’s office.
•$191,000 part-time help, which includes $100,000 for fuel, in the county road department
•$25,000 for the new sheriff’s administration building.
•$300 for Circuit Court-Second and Third division for clothes and allowance.
