A light agenda will be considered by the Benton City Council when the panel meets at 7 tonight at Benton Municipal Complex.
The agenda includes a resolution ratifying the appointment of Melissa Bishop as commissioner to the Benton Parks and Recreation Commission. Bishop, if confirmed by the council, will fill an unexpired term originally held by Jennifer Mitchell and now being filled by Leigh Ann Prickett, whose term expires Oct. 1 The council also will vote on an ordinance that would rezone property at 2512 Silica Heights Road. O’Kelley Construction is the the owner of the property, which currently is designated as an R1.7.5 single-family residential zone. Leonard M. Jill Jones, executive director of the Benton Advertising and Promotion Commission, is scheduled to present a report of recent activities of that panel.
