Police: Body found in road E-mail
Thursday, 16 October 2008
Saline County sheriff’s deputies are looking for leads into why a body was found on Hensley Mail Route Road.
Lt. Mike Frost said the sheriff’s office received a call around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday indicating that the body of a black man was in the road.
“We suspect the man is about 20-35 years old,” Frost said. “We are treating this as a homicide, but we have no leads or suspects at this time.”
Frost was relaying the information this morning from the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock, where an autopsy was about to be performed.
Frost couldn’t provide further details by press time, such as cause of death. He did say authorities believe the body had been in that location for 12-18 hours. He said more information would be released later today.
If anyone knows anything about a missing person or other information, Frost asked that they call the sheriff’s office at 303-5609.
He noted that the sheriff’s office is working with other Central Arkansas law enforcement agencies to solve the apparent crime.
