Budget discussion on agenda for Bryant aldermen E-mail

Bryant aldermen plan to consider numerous resolutions concerning the 2009 city budget when they meet at 7 p.m. today at Boswell Municipal Complex.
The city finance department is expected to present a resolution providing the adoption of an amended budget for 12 months; a resolution providing the adoption of a budget for 12 months; appropriating money for each item of expenditure; a resolution providing for the adoption of a budget for the city water and sewer department for 12 months; and a resolution to amend the city 2009 general fund budget to support the city’s master planning efforts and capital improvements.
Finance Director Gary Hollis is expected present a budget review and update the City Council on the city’s finances.
In other business, Parks and Recreation Director Jeremy Lemons plans to ask for approval on a low bid of $941,000 from Eagle Electric for lights at Bishop Park on Boone Road.
Public Works Director Richard Penn will provide an update on the status of the FTN project to protect the city from flooding issues.
The Bryant Fire Department will ask for approval of a job description for training officers.
The water and wastewater department will ask for approval of a job description for an administrative operations coordinator.
    Boswell Municipal Com-plex is at 210 SW Third St.
    Council members are Rick Meyer, Steve Gladden, Steve Glenn, Larry Smart, Robby Young, Ken Green, Danny Steele and Chris Tipton.
The mayor is Larry Mitchell.
