Benton firefighters work to extinguish a fire at an abandoned office building connected to the old Owosso furniture plant off Willow Street near Edison Avenue. Fire Marshal Bruce Armstrong said the building was a total loss. Damage is estimated at $50,000. The fire occurred shortly after noon Tuesday. Marshal said he believes someone may have ignited the fire because no utilities were connected to the building, which was abandoned. The former Owosso furniture plant burned last year.
