    Margaret Juanita Hicks, 87, of Benton, died March 17, 2009.  
    She was born July 25, 1921, in Saline County to William and Annie Baker.  
    Margaret attended Fairplay Baptist Church and worked at Saline Memorial in the housekeeping department.
 She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dewell Monroe Baker; a husband of 50 years, Ernest F. Hicks; a son, William Larry Hicks; two children in their early childhood; and grandchildren, Tommy and Tonya Pertius of Benton.
 Survivors include sons, Kenny Hicks and wife Crystal of Benton and Lester E. Hicks of Bryant; daughters, Martha Thornton of Bismarck, Mary Thomas and husband Mike of Idabell, Okla., Roma Hill and husband Mark of Little Rock, Madeline Black and husband Woodrow of Benton; a sister, Emma Jean Newcomb; three nephews and their families; one niece of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
  Church services by Ashby Funeral Home will be held at 11 a.m. at Fairplay Baptist Church Friday with Larry Mattingly officiating. Burial will follow at Fairplay Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Fonzie Thorton, Dwight Lynn Humphrey Sr., Dwight Lynn Humphrey Jr., John Swain, Casey Black, Thomas Babbitt and Doug Roland.
    Visitation will be at Ashbys from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

    Family comments: Margaret loved life. She loved God and tried to do what was right. She loved to hear Gospel music and was of the Baptist faith.
