Robert Mason, 71, of Benton joined our Lord in constant companionship on Wednesday, June 24, 2009.
Mr. Mason was born Dec. 19, 1937, in Benton.
He was a dedicated family man and member of Foursquare Gospel Church. He was an avid hunter and gardener who took great pleasure in sharing the fruits of his labor with all. Mr. Mason knew no strangers and enjoyed befriending those he encountered in daily life.
Mr. Mason was predeceased by his parents, Dewell and Barbara Mason.
Mr. Mason is survived by his wife of 51 years, Irma Mason of Benton; his son, Randal Mason and wife Stefanie of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel and Randi Mason; and a brother, John Davis and wife Margaret Ann of Benton. He is further survived by very special family friends, John, Jo and Kate Crews, as well as his dear friend, Wayne Hutcheson.
Funeral service by Ashby Funeral Home will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Foursquare Gospel Church, followed by burial at Forrest Hills Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ashby Funeral Home.
