AHC holding 2nd job fair Tuesday at Haskell center E-mail
Thursday, 09 July 2009
Arkansas Health Center in Haskell will host its second annual job fair from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, in the AHC employee cafeteria.
Ed Hood, director of the facility, noted that several professional positions are available including a licensed social worker, risk management investigator, public safety officer and respiratory therapist.
There also are full- and part-time positions in the recreation/activities, food services, environmental services and nursing services departments.
“The new state pay plan has raised the starting salary for many positions,” Hood said.
He noted that the salary for certified nursing assistants starts at $10.49 and ranges up to $14.09, depending on shift differentials, unit assignment and assigned schedule.  Shift assignments are available in 8-, 10- and 12-hour options, depending upon the unit, Hood said.
AHC has been named as the only Five Star nursing home in the Benton area by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
“This rating is based on health inspections, nursing home staffing and quality measures,” Hood said. “Come see why multiple generations of families have made a life and career of working at the state’s largest nursing home.”
He noted that AHC is truly “a family-oriented facility, and employees enjoy the pride and rewarding satisfaction of making a difference in our residents’ lives every single day.”  “Working at AHC, you can have it all—quality of life, career, state benefits and retirement, continuing education, CNA training, advancement opportunities and a Christian family atmosphere.
Applicants may apply online at http://www.arstatejobs.com or at the Human Resources Department in the Administration Building at AHC  For more information, call 860-0500.
