Benton teen killed in 4-wheeler accident E-mail
Tuesday, 29 September 2009
A Benton teenager was killed in a four-wheeler accident Monday evening, according to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.     The accident took place at 4:57 p.m. Monday. Saline County
Sheriff’s Cpl. Michael Watson said he was called to North Fork Circle and arrived around 5:35 p.m. The Salem Fire Department rescue unit performed CPR.
The sheriff’s office report said Daniel Magnusson, 15, of Benton was driving the ATV on North Fork Circle with two other juveniles on the back seat.
Magnusson reportedly lost control and was ejected from the ATV.
The report said the asphalt roadway was dry and there was still daylight at the time of the accident.
Watson said Magnusson was found in a ditch with a metal fence post impaled in his right side.
The two other juveniles were not reported to have suffered any injuries.
Magnusson was transported to Saline Memorial Hospital and was flown to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
