Preschool fire safety week E-mail
Tuesday, 06 October 2009
Image Several children at the Children’s Corner preschool in Benton enjoy touching the mask on the face of Benton Firefighter Tony Branch on Monday. Along with Branch, firefighter Matthew Bradford and other local firefighters will visit numerous preschools in Benton throughout the week as part of their Preschool Fire Safety Programs.
and the “National Fire Safety Week.” Branch and Bradford showed children fire apparatus, a ladder truck and much more. Fire Marshall Bruce Armstrong said the goal of the program is to “teach children about the dangers of fire and how to prevent injury by avoiding it.” He also said firefighters dressing in full apparatus helps them “not be afraid of them” in the event of an emergency.
