Saline County Coroner Will Bearden confirmed today that a Bauxite man has died after testing positive for swine flu.
Jeffery “Todd” Rollison, 37, died Wednesday night at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. “He definitely had it,” Bearden said. “He didn’t die in this county, but it was confirmed by health officials in Pulaski County and by Pulaski County Coroner Garland Camper.” Authorities reportedly were not aware of Rollinson suffering from any preexisting illnesses before being diagnosed with swine flu on Nov. 7. The Arkansas Department of Health reportedly has confirmed 18 deaths from swine flu. According to the Associated Press, Health Department officials have not not said that Rollinson’s death was actually caused by the flu strain, though they confirmed that he was suffering from the H1N1 flu strain at the time he died. Rollinson was born Dec. 15, 1971, in Leesburg, Va. He was an avid outdoorsman and a sports fan and, in his younger years, was the lead singer in several rock bands. He is survived by his wife, Amber Rollison; two stepsons, Ethan and Andrew Robbins; his parents Raymond G. and Reba Lynn Rollison; a sister, Deena Lyn Trainor and husband Chris; his grandmothers, Stella Collins and Anna Rollison; a nephew, Rocco Trainor; and many aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. A memorial service took place Sunday afternoon at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant.
