Bryant council to analyze salaries |

The agenda for a Bryant City Council meeting tonight notes that the aldermen plan to vote on a 2010 salary study to be conducted by the Job Evaluation and Salary Administration Program of Northwest Arkansas.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Boswell Municipal Complex on SW Third Street. Earlier in the year, the council set city employees’ salaries based on recommendations of the JESAP study and recently approved raises for Mayor Larry Mitchell, City Clerk Brenda Cockerham and city aldermen based on the study. In other matters, the council is scheduled to vote on ordinances that would decrease the city’s water and sewer rates. The aldermen also plan to vote on the first reading of an ordinance authorizing services with the Boys and Girls Club. The ordinance notes that competitive bidding will be waived. Other matters on the agenda include the following: •First reading of an ordinance adopting a master trails plan recommended b Parks Director Jeremy Lemons. The ordinance was tabled in a previous meeting. •A resolution providing for the adoption of an amended budget for the General Fund and for the Water/Sewer departments. •A contract for a Corps of Engineers Lake DeGray project recommended by the Finance and Personnel Committee. •A request to solicit the scope of engineering services from Jackson Brown for a new fire department, as recommended by the Finance and personnel committee. •A directing concerning time trade requests between employee of the fire department. The Finance and Personnel Committee has recommended approval. The council also plans to vote on job descriptions for the city’s animal control director and an animal control officer; and to vote on a $175,000 study regarding pipeline analysis for a systems collection.
