Ida Maxine Morton Otey, 90, of Alexander died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, in Bryant.
She was born Sept. 4, 1919, in Pottsville to R.H. and Lora Morton.
Mrs. Otey was a graduate of the Baptist State Hospital School of Nursing and served as a member of the Arkansas State Board of Nursing for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Orb and Bob Morton.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, R.C. Otey; two sisters, Nola Morton Gibbs and husband Neil of Alexander and Mary Mae Morton Jones and husband Jodie of Bentonville; two brothers, James Frank Morton and wife Betsy of Jacksonville and Floyd “Shorty” Morton and wife Louise of Anton, Texas; a sister-in-law, Jean Morton of Seattle, Wash.; along with many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Celebration of life will be held at noon Wednesday at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant with the Rev. Darrel Drennen officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Contributions be made to the Maxine Otey scholarship at the Baptist School of Nursing.
