Congratulations to organizers of Spook City and Monster Madness for another successful pair of community Halloween events on Tuesday evening. Spook City, in its second year, was held in Downtown Benton and Monster Madness, in its third year, was held at Mills Park in Bryant. By all accounts, both events were big hits with the thousands of young ghosts and goblins and their parents who attended the festivities. These community Halloween events are a great idea. They offer parents and their children a safe, fun environment for celebrating the holiday. Let’s be honest, while children continue to trick-or-treat, the practice is not what it was years ago. Safety has long been a concern but these days, safety is the priority. Events like Spook City and Monster Madness keep the family fun in Halloween and help alleviate some of the worry.
