Familiar holiday tune “Jingle Bell Rock” will be the theme for this year’s Christmas parade through Downtown Benton.
The parade will kick off the annual Celebration of Lights spectacle for the Saline County Courthouse at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3. People wanting to participate in the parade must fill out a registration form by Friday, Nov. 30. A $5 registration fee will apply to cover expenses, which include cost of prizes for winners of Best of Show. Three out-of-town judges will select first-, second- and third-place finishers who best capture the theme, Lisa Baldwin with Downtown Benton Inc. said. Enthusiasm and originality will be the determining factors in the selection, she said. First-place participants will receive $100. All finishers will receive a trophy.
