Virgie Mae Lowrey

Virgie Mae Lowrey, 90, of Little Rock, died August 26. She was born May 5, 1922 to Floyd and Winnie Evans. She experienced a full and healthy life, adored her husband of 40 years and served with him at Archview Baptist Church since 1963. She was active in God’s Older Kids, Puppet and Bus ministry; always witnessing to others her Christian faith. She spent her working years in the Trust Department of Regions Bank retiring in 1984. After retirement, she devoted her time to preparing lessons for Sunday school class for over 20 years. She loved to travel with her family and friends and caring for her flowers.
Mrs. Lowrey is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lowrey, Jr.; her parents, Floyd and Winnie Mae Evans; her sister, Violet Evans Ramsey; and her brother, Alvin F. Evans.
She is survived by her daughters, Iva Jean Moss; Cecilia Coker and husband, Robert, all of Little Rock; Nancy Caton of Hensley; Pam Talley and husband, Mike of Perry, GA; grandchildren, Kevin Singleton of Jacksonville, Todd Singleton of Sherwood, Holly Clark of Little Rock, Suzanne Higgs of Gulf Port, Miss, Dewayne Coker of Bryant, Regina Goss of Hensley, Adam and Dustin Talley of Perry, GA; and 14 great-grandchildren; nephew Tommy Ramsey; many cousins; and her church family and neighbors. Her first great-great grandchild will be born this year.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30 at Archview Baptist Church, 12610 Arch Street in Little Rock. Interment will follow at Sharon Cemetery in Benton.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 29 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home in Little Rock.
