Wayne Allison of Bryant passed away on July 15.He was born Feb. 1, 1924, in Higden to Will and Clara Allison.
Mr. Allison was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and working as a U.S. postmaster. He retired in 1986 from Safeway Warehouse, where he worked as a night watchman and maintenance man for 25 years.
Mr. Allison enjoyed going to church and the fellowship he had with his church family, gardening and yard work.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Christeen Allison; a half-brother, Dale Allison of Oakland, Calif.; and his parents.
He is survived by two sisters, Reba Pickering of Beaverton, Ore., and Kay McNinch and husband Ferrell of Bee Branch; three children, Bill Allison and wife Sharon of Benton, Janet Jackson and husband Gary of Rose Bud, and Tim Allison of Rose Bud; five granddaughters, Kelly Garner of Lonsdale, Debbie Dempsey of Haskell, Jennifer York of Seigmon, Mo., Leah Langanke of Round Lake, Ill., and Katy Bowman of Beebe; and one grandson, Nathan Allison of Little Rock.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at New Bethel Church of Christ in Alexander with Mr. John White officiating. A graveside service is set for 3 p.m., Wednesday at Colony Church of Christ Cemetery in Morganton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 17, at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, AR 72209, 501-455-5800.
