William Carrell McCallister

William Carrell McCallister, 75, of Benton, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, from cancer.  He was a Christian and a member of Temple Baptist Church in  Benton.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was born Aug. 23, 1937 in England, Ark., to the late William and Eula McCallister. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother to his five children, Loretta McCallister: three brothers, Luther, Edward, and Roger McCallister; and one sister, Lenora Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Judy McCallister; three daughters, Karen Rhodes and husband Red of McCaskill, Debbie Dorsey and husband Don of Alexander, and Janie Bryant and husband Jackie of Benton; two sons, Lynn McCallister and wife Lisa of Little Rock and Glynn McCallister and wife Brandi of Benton; one granddaughter, Lesly Cox and husband Bubba; three grandsons, Jeremy Lockeby and wife Amy and Garrett and Jake McCallister; two great-grandsons, Hunter and Tyler Cox; one brother, Marvin McCallister of Benton; two sisters, Sue Buggar of Benton and Connie Garner of Houston, Texas; two stepdaughters, Yvonne Dick and husband Jeremy of Benton and Tammie McElrath of Hot Springs; one stepson, Dion McGuire of Benton; 12 step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends that he loved dearly.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. J. Clyde Chenault and Brother Horace Gray officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship Cemetery in Benton.  Serving as pallbearers are Larry Buggar, Jimmy Garner, Andy McCallister, Bobby McCallister, Jerrel McCallister, Junior Blundell and Ken Ashworth.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at the funeral home. Mr. McCallister’s family will gather at the home of Debbie Dorsey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 8601 Hwy. 67, Benton, AR 72015.
