William Howard 'Bill' Wilhite

William Howard “Bill” Wilhite, 80, of Little Rock passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 and was a Signalman on the USS Roulette.
Bill was a member of New Hope Nazarene Church in Little Rock. He loved his church family and never missed an opportunity to offer his gratitude for their prayers and concerns for him.
Bill enjoyed fishing, selling campers, working in his yard, music, and playing the harmonica for his grandchildren. He had a wonderful sense of humor and kept his family and friends in stitches. Bill was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar E. “Bus” and Ola Wilhite; two sons, Michael Wayne and Don Wilhite; a daughter, Patti Wilhite; three brothers, Oscar “Mutt” Wilhite, Charles Henry “Chuck” Wilhite and Jim Wilhite; and two sisters, Addie Bell Hall and Fern Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Ocie Wilhite of Little Rock; a son, Billy Charles Wilhite of Little Rock; a daughter, Brenda Wooley and husband Tim of Warren; a son, Ronnie Wilhite and wife Libby of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Robert Wilhite and wife Abby of Benton; a daughter, Melissa Collins and husband Eric of Little Rock; a son, Gary Stowers and wife Pam of Little Rock; a daughter, Cindy Carver and husband Allen of Benton; his stepchildren, Marie Barker of Little Rock, Jack Romine (Neena) of Little Rock, Randy Romine and wife Robin of Little Rock, Sandra Brasfield of Little Rock, Mary Dyson and husband Kim of Cabot; 41 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Maggie Nell Garrett and husband Fritz of Texarkana, Alta Aaron of White Hall and Scottie Quire of Conway; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to New Hope Nazarene Church, 5519 Atwood Road, Little Rock, AR 72206.
