Hugh 'Dennis' Gant, Jr.

Hugh “Dennis” Gant Jr., 71, of Benton passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2014.
He was born Oct. 2, 1942, in Fort Smith to the late Hugh D. Gant Sr. and Frankie Smith Gant.
Dennis enjoyed water skiing in his early years. Another favorite hobby was working in his yard. Dennis loved driving his red 1976 T-top Corvette until it didn’t run as smoothly as he liked, and traded for a red Mustang convertible.
Dennis was a Razorback fan and held season tickets for 10 years. He is remembered for taking care of family and putting others first.

Ann Louise Wetzel

September 30, 2014

Ann Louise Wetzel, age 70, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on Sept. 25, 2014.
She was born Oct. 21, 1943, in Amarillo, Texas. to Earl Leroy and Dorothy Wetzel.
Ann lived in several states and Puerto Rico, finally settling in Texas after marriage to Anthony Yates, where she lived until recently.
She was predeceased by her father, Earl Wetzel.

Mickey Don Banks

Mickey Don Banks of Mabelvale passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 27, 2014.
He was born April 6, 1942, in North Little Rock to the late J.T. Banks and Mildred Tucker Banks.
He was a retired carpenter at Arkansas State Hospital, an avid sportsman and a Razorback fan. He was an Army veteran.
Nothing pleased him more than gathering his family to go dove hunting. He used this time to “lecture on life” as the family called it. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
He was predeceased by his brother, Jimmy Banks.

Bobby Charles Rogers

Bobby Charles Rogers, age 75, of Benton passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014.  He was born June 17, 1939 in Benton.
Bobby was a U.S. Marine and worked for Hilbilt Manufacturing Co. 
He loved hunting and fishing and was a member of Copper Springs Hunting Club. 
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Milton Rogers and Doris M. Thompson Rogers.

Cameron Joe Burget "CJ"

Cameron Joe Burget "CJ", born Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 9:04 am, went to play in the sky above on the September 21, 2014 at 12:22 p.m. CJ spent his hours here on Earth in the arms of his family.
CJ is survived by his parents Cameron and Baily Burget of Benton, sister Emma Burget; Grandparents Dennis and Liz Burget of Benton, R.B. Ramsey and wife Terri of Malvern, and Laura Wells of Benton, Aunt Cassandra Burget of Little Rock, Uncle Corey Burget of Benton, and Aunt Josie of West Virginia, plus many more family and friends.

Nancy Jane Perry

Nancy Jane Perry, 75, of Benton passed away Wednesday September 24, 2014. She was born March 30, 1939 in Indiana. Nancy was a retired clerical worker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Leota Hathcock, husband Kenneth Perry.
She is survived by, sons, Ed Harvey of California; John Hulsey of North Carolina; daughter, Candy Ramsey of Benton; brother, Jerry Hathcock of California; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel.

Nigel Gregory Crolley

Nigel Gregory Crolley, 28, of Benton passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2014.
He was born May 23, 1986, in Little Rock.
Nigel earned a bachelor's degree in history and criminal justice at UALR. He was in the landscaping business and was loved by everybody he met.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Myrna Joe Parsley.

Michael Louis Head

Michael Louis Head, 28, of Bryant formerly of Malvern, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014 in a tragic accident.  He was born August 20, 1986 to Max Louis Head and Vicki Lynn McVay Head of Malvern.  Michael was a retail sales consultant at AT&T of Bryant and of the Church of Christ faith.

Mary Bethunia “Beth” Merritt

Mary Bethunia “Beth” Merritt, of Avilla Community passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014 at the age of 103 years, 7 months. Mary was born on January 29, 1911 at Princeton, Arkansas, She was one of 11 children of John Samuel and Sarah Looney Abbott. Mary moved to Little Rock after graduating from Sparkman High School in May, 1929.  She married Maxie Theodore Merritt on November 15, 1947. Mary retired from Mildred Cobb’s Dress Shop, in the Heights, on July 1, 1992 at the age of 81.

Royce Glen Chambless

Royce Glen Chambless, 75, of Bauxite died Friday, Sept. 19, 2014. He was born in Zion on March 7, 1939, to Alfred and Beulah (Hill) Chambless. He attended school in Sidney, and then moved to Little Rock.
Royce never met a stranger and made it his mission in life to make sure the conversation always flowed. He had a generous heart and was a true friend to all who met him.
Royce was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred Corley Chambless and Kenneth Chambless; and a son, Richard Chambless.
