Shirley Jean Reames Tilley

Shirley Jean Reames Tilley, 89, of Benton, a former longtime resident of El Dorado, passed away July 8, 2014, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.
Born Feb. 10, 1925, in Clarksdale, Miss., she was the daughter of Fred Reames and Bertie Forrest Reams. 
A graduate of Union High School, Shirley worked for the First National Bank in El Dorado for 36 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Brough Barton Thompson Tilley; sisters, Mary Louise Reames and Marguerite Katherlyn Jackson; and brothers, Forrest Eugene Reames, Fred Oneal Reames and Rudolph Elliott Reames.

(Ret.) Sgt. Dewey E. Head

Retired Sgt. Dewey E. Head, 34, of Benton passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014.
Dewey was a retired sergeant of the U.S. Army who had been mobilized three times. He received many honors, including the Purple Heart, by the time he was honorably discharged in July of 2014 due to injuries he received in Iraq.
He was preceded in death by Joe and Gwen Roberson of Lonoke and his father-in-law, Joe D. Crouch of Benton.

Joe Leonard Gould

Joe Leonard Gould, 74, of Pottsville went to be with the Lord on Tuesday July 8, 2014.
He was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Bauxite.
Joe was a retired store manager for Kroger for 31 years and a faithful member of the Pottsville First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard A. Gould and Julia Mae Mitchell Gould; and a son, Mark Leonard Gould.

Robin Gail Doss Hogue

Robin Gail Doss Hogue, 60, of Benton went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 7, 2014.
She was born in Los Angeles, Calif., but Benton was her home.
Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Myles Doss and Effie Connell Lane; and a son, Peyton Wayne Hogue.
She is survived by her brother, Ron Doss; a sister, Lynn Sebourn (Ron); the love of her life, her grandson, Kobe Hogue; many family members and her dearest friends, Cindy Rhodes and Gary Hogue. Robin will be missed greatly by her many friends and family. 

Ouida Isadora Cox Fowler

Ouida Isadora Cox Fowler, born, November 23,1921 passed away July 3, 2014. She went to join her Lord and Savior and her husband, US Army Tech Sergeant Vernon John Fowler whom she was married to for 6 years when he passed in 1945 in action. She stayed devoted to him and never married again. She raised her daughter Wanda with the help of her family. Ouida was also a loyal member of Church of Christ.
Ouida is preceded in death by her brothers, William and Osa D. Cox and sister, Marie Moore.

Sarah Kilcrease-McGriff-Vardaman

Sarah Kilcrease-McGriff-Vardaman, 80 of Benton passed from this life on July 5, 2014. She was born January 29, 1934 in McGehee, to her parents, George and Gertha Vardaman.
One of her greatest pleasures in life came from gardening and tending to her flowers along with spending time with her family. Sarah also had over 30 years of employment with AT&T.
She is preceded in death by her parents.

Georgia Suitor

Georgia Suitor, 80, of Benton passed away July 2, 2014. She was born April 18, 1934 in Paris, Texas. Georgia was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George William Alexander Williams and Nellie Morris Williams and a daughter, Karen Hunter, Irene Hunter, Mary Francis Williams and Juanita Faith, two husbands, Raymond Hunter and Robert Suitor.
Survivors, four sons, David, Raymond, Steven, and William Hunter, brother, Gail Williams, sisters, Jene Moore, Ann Bragg, and Jimmie Blakley, thirteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren  and great-great-grandchildren.

Millie Rea Nalley

Millie Rea Nalley, 87, of Benton passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014. It was a beautiful summer day when she went to be with the Lord. She was born November 19, 1926 in Bauxite. Millie was a Christian of Baptist faith and a member of Mulberry Baptist Church. She loved and served her Lord in many capacities, as a Sunday school and Bible School teacher, and through her love of gospel singing. She was a wonderful singer with a beautiful alto voice. She started out her young married life as a hairdresser and cosmetologist.

LaDonna K. McCormack

LaDonna K. McCormack, of Benton died Friday, July 4, 2014, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born on July 13, 1941 to Grady and Louise Talkington Kinder in Moreland (Pope County). She graduated from Dover High School and Arkansas Tech University. She was a teacher for thirty-two years having taught in Dover, Bauxite, and retiring from Benton High School as an English teacher. She was also co-director of Jolly Time Pre-School at the First United Methodist Church in Benton for ten years.

Antonia Bernadine Lyman

Antonia Bernadine Lyman, age 94, of Haskell passed away July 4, 2014 in Benton. She was born July 8, 1919, in Haskell to Luther and Maude Smith.
She owned and operated the first beauty shop in the city of Haskell in the early 1950s.
She was well known for her passion for crocheting and giving away beautiful afghans and for the pleasure she took in mowing daily on her riding lawnmower.
Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Joe Lyman.
