Conway scored four runs in the first inning as they defeated Benton High School 6-0 Sunday. Conway added a run in the fourth and fifth innings as they tallied eight hits in the game.
Benton also managed eight hits, including two from Justin Vincent and Grayson Chilton. Matthew Krikorian was 1-1 with a walk, Taylor Schmidt was 1-2 and Jordan Britton was 1-3. Garrison Roy was 1-3.
Sophomore Coulton Lee pitched four innings, allowing five runs (one earned) on six hits with five strikeouts and no walks. Krikorian closed the game, pitching two innings and allowing one run (earned) with a walk and three strikeouts.
In its first of two games on Sunday, Benton defeated Marion 2-1. Carson Holloway hit a two-run home run and Krikorian had a hit as well as Benton won despite only managing two hits in the game.
Holloway pitched a complete game, allowing one run (earned) on nine hits with two walks and six strikeouts. He also allowed a home run.
On Saturday, Benton defeated Arkansas Baseball Academy 15-5 after tallying 15 hits, including two from Krikorian and three from Lee. Lee also had five RBIs while Krikorian had an RBI and two walks.
Vincent was 1-5 with a run and an RBI, and Holloway was 2-4 with three runs and a walk. Schmidt was 2-5 with two runs and one RBI.
Britton was 0-2 but scored a run and had an RBI. Brant Stout was 2-3 with a run, an RBI and a walk. Chilton was 2-4 with two RBIs, and Roy was 1-4 with an RBI.
Roy pitched five innings, allowing five runs (none earned) on seven hits with eight strikeouts and one walk. Holloway pitched an inning and allowed just one walk.
The Panthers will play in a doubleheader against Little Rock Catholic Tuesday at home beginning at 5 p.m. The 16-and-under team will play tonight against Catholic at home beginning at 5 p.m.
