Glynn Doyle Adams was very suddenly called home by the Lord, to a family reunion in Heaven, on Thursday, July 14. The Lord has allowed him to praise and proclaim His name for the last 16 years of his life.
Glynn was born December 28, 1931, in Antioch in White County to Raymond K. and Lydia Pruitt Adams. Raymond and Lydia, his brothers Marley, Reuben “Shorty” Adams, Jimmy Adams, his sister, Anna Mae Adams Clay, his niece, Anna Lynn Vernon, daughter of his sister, Anna Mae, and his niece, Alice Ann Beard (Hal) daughter of his brother, Kenneth Elmo Adams, his brother-in-law Glenn Clay, and his first wife, Mary Grace Huff Adams, have all gone before him to the family reunion.
Glynn is survived by his wife, Sylvia Minor Adams of Bryant; his brother, Kenneth Elmo Adams (Sue) from West Memphis; his precious sister-in-law, Alice Adams of Cabot; three sons, William “Billy” Adams and Terrell “Terry” Adams (Angela and her family), and Steve Adams (Nikki and her family) of Bryant; two grandsons, Ian Adams of Alexander, and Flint Adams of Fayetteville; and four granddaughters, Hannah Adams, Marley Adams and Taylor Adams of Alexander, and Cleo Elizabeth Townsend of Bryant. Also three brother-in-laws, Marion Minor (Anita)and family, Willard Minor (Simone) and family, Buddy Huff (Nancy) and family; three nephews, Tim Adams (Judy) of Cabot and Timothy and Jamie, Danny and Jeffrey Adams of Searcy; nieces, Patti and Linda of Searcy, Glenna MacGrotty (Stephen) of New York, Marta Adams of Tennessee, Angela Clark (JB), and their families, LuAnn Wiggins (Geoff) of Atlanta, and Esther and Rachel and their families; and nephew by marriage, Rusty Vernon (Anna Lynn Clay Vernon) and their sons; great nephews, Adam and Jacob Vernon, who though live miles away, were very close in Glynn’s heart, and many other great-great nephews and nieces, countless numbers of friends are left, as Glynn never met a stranger.
Among friends are Elder Larry Watson (and cousin Annette), Albert Wyllia, Charles Holladay (sister Debbie), his friend and cardiologist, Dr. Eugene Smith, Elder and Mrs. Harold Stumbaugh, and brother, Ralph Adams, Jerome Mink, Joe Becker, David Lindsey and all of the brothers and sisters at Point Remove Primitive Baptist Church, and the ones who knew him closely, Tony Watson, Josh Watson, Larry Paul Watson and their families, Tommy Watson family, including Jennifer and Anthony and their families, and B.J and Ashlee Watson family, Rex Griffin (sister Pam), Matt Griffin family (Matt, your visits to the office were treasures of Glynn’s), Wes Griffin family and Dusty Griffin and all of the other families and members of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Little Rock, Kevin (of Ameripride) and a host of other friends and all of the customers and friends of Adams Pest Control. If anyone has been left from this listing, you are not left from our appreciation of your friendship and relationship with Glynn and our family.
Pallbearers will be Lee Culpepper, Kenny Fite, Steve Edwards, Steve Spickard, Larry James, Stephen Rains, Tommy Sharp and Carl Newcomb. Honorary pallbearers will be all of our dedicated employees, John Whitehead, Tony Watson, Paul Watson, Josh Watson, B.J. Watson, Anthony Jasay, Russ Frazier and Kenny Packer.
Visitation will be at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton today at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Ashby Funeral Home, 108 W Narroway, Benton. Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander.
