Gilbert Paul Morgan, 58, of Benton passed away Monday, July 25. He was born April 22, 1953, in Star City to Houston Randall Morgan and Venie (Williams) Morgan. He was a transportation broker and owned his own transportation company. He was ordained a deacon for the Diocese of Little Rock in December 2002 and served as deacon at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Benton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Morgan and Wilbur Morgan.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Pamela J. Morgan of Benton; three sons, Jody Morgan and wife, Tonya of Benton, Aaron Wyllia of Benton, and Jeremy Wyllia and wife, Liz of Bryant; eight grandchildren, Trevor Cain, Chloe and Lucy Morgan, Shayla and Alex Wyllia, and Hudson, Harper, and Garrison Wyllia; two sisters, Dorothy Hawkins of Star City and Linda Harrison of Benton, and five brothers, Bobby Morgan of Alexander, Leonard Morgan, H.R. Morgan, Ronnie Morgan, and Raymond Morgan all of Star City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Michael Bass as celebrant. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Serving as pallbearers are Rick Christian, Mike Duke, Mark Duke, Scott Clay, Wendell Simpson, and Mark Chilton. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Connell, Rick Lee and Dr. Dan Cartaya.
Visitation will be from 6 - 7 p.m., Thursday with a rosary service to begin at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton, 315-4047.
