Noel Lewis Beard Sr., 75, of Traskwood, passed away Monday, Jan. 23. He was born February 24, 1936 in Gurdon. Mr. Beard was a U.S. Marine and worked for Middleton Heat and Air for 15 years. He was a member of Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church and the American Legion. Mr. Beard was preceded in death by his parents, David and Elsie Faye Beard; his wife of 46 years, JoAnn Beard; two sons, Noel and Bob Beard and a great-grandson, Gregory Lee Beard.
He is survived by five sons, Davey, Buddy, Scott, Wayman and Jayson Beard all of Traskwood; four daughters, Karen Duesterhoft of Texas, Kathy Beard of Vilonia, Chantae Whitley of Traskwood and Ricki Gail Wood of Traskwood; brother, Gordon Beard of Traskwood; five sisters, Pat Squires of Georgia, Mildred Squires of Bryant, Katherine Sutton of Benton, Linda Sanchez of Benton and Margaret Chaney of Bryant; twenty-two grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 at Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church.
