Fred Morgan (Tony) Hogue, 93, of Benton passed away Monday, Feb. 13. He was born Dec. 4, 1918, in Bauxite to the late Jim and Lillie Hogue.
Tony was a member of First United Methodist Church in Benton, was an avid golfer and was especially fond of Silver Springs Golf Club and Men’s Golf Association. He was a proud World War II veteran, serving as a Seabee in the South Pacific for four years.
Upon his return to Saline County, he went to work for Alcoa, retiring after 30 years of service in the engineering department. Tony was married to Anneice (Spann) Hogue for 65 years. Family members said the two were inseparable and that love truly was their theme.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Maybelle Lauder, Doris Blakely and Nanny Russell; a brother, Leonard Hogue; and many of his Silver Springs buddies.
He was survived by his wife; his brother-in-law, Hubert Spann; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at First United Methodist Church in Benton. Burial will follow at Lee Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Sam Sample, Jason Finley, Jay Kelley, Preston Cooper, Derek McGrew and Tim Harris.
Drew Finley and Jim Hester are honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Ashby Funeral Home.

Family comments: Tony was a quiet man, but his Christian testimony was clearly one of his greatest attributes. We will miss him greatly.
