Logan Hayes Parker, 21, of Bryant, departed this world on Saturday, Feb. 18. He was born May 21, 1990, to Jim Mack and Robin Parker of Bryant.
Logan fought for life from his first moments on earth. Born with a serious heart condition, he survived a seven-hour surgery at just two days old.
Growing up in a football family, he watched his older brother, Lance, play the game. Sideline observations were just not enough for Logan. His fierce determination to overcome his health obstacles led him to play quarterback for Bryant High School. In 2007, he and his teammates won the 7A Conference Championship with Logan receiving All-State honors. He also was voted "funniest" by his senior class.
Logan not only fought for life, he loved life. “Parker,” as his friends called him, had an infectious personality. His happiest moments were when he was laughing, dancing and entertaining his family and friends. His love for his family was evident in every part of his life, from lunches with Mom, caring for Granddaddy, to playing with niece Ella, Logan thrived on his family’s love.
His last year was spent working with his mother at Wilson, Engstrom, Corum, and Coulter Law Firm. His wit, humor, and genuine charm touched people of all ages in his very short time on this earth. The memories of his life will forever be cherished by all who loved him.
Logan was preceded in his death by his maternal grandparents, Dorthy and Herman Hayes Nowlin of Hampton.
He is survived by his parents, Jim Mack and Robin Parker of Bryant; his brother and sister-in-law, Lance and Kelli Parker of Olive Branch, Miss.; a niece, Ella Parker, also of Olive Branch; his paternal grandparents, Jim and Betty Parker of Benton; his aunts and uncles, Vicki Wallace of Hot Springs, Herman and Cindy Yoos of Columbia, S.C., Kenneth and Linda Jones of Hampton, Nancy Nowlin of Minden, La., Gary Nowlin of Bedford, Texas, and Terry Nowlin of El Dorado. He also is survived by numerous cousins and friends.
