Robert M. Wade, 86, of Bryant went to be with our Lord on March 19.
He was born Sept. 27, 1925, in Little Rock.
Mr. Wade joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and proudly served in World War II and the Korean War. He then worked at Alcoa in Benton for 30 years. After retirement, he became a plumbing and building inspector for the city of Bryant.
He was a member of Fuller Chapel Church, Dixie Car Club of Benton and Metropolitan Auto Club.
Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Hazel (Noble) Wade; his first wife, Wanda (Sheets) Wade; a son, Terry Wade; and two brothers, Freddy Starkey and Ob Starkey.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Burroughs) Wade of Bryant; a daughter, Alicia Hardin and husband Granville "Bud" of Benton; three sisters, Elizabeth Simpson of Fort Smith, Rachel Hicks of Texas, and Billy Jean Hargrow of Vilonia; and two brothers, David Starkey of Austin and Otis Shadle of Texas.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Stephanie Sallis, George Robert Henson, Cody Hardin, Tracey Hardin, Brian Huitt, and Misty Huitt; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22, in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) with Elder James Winston and the Rev. Kim Hammer officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
Serving as pallbearers are Brian Huitt, George Robert Henson, Cody Hardin, Granville (Bud) Hardin, Randy Johnson, and Martin Brown. Ronald "Butch" Clements will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at the funeral home.
