William “Bill” Welsh, 74, of Traskwood died July 1. He was born July 17, 1937, in Washington, Pa., to the late Marvin Welsh and Nellie Mays Welsh. He had served in the U.S. Air Force and was owner of Bill’s Pool Service.
Bill enjoyed motorcycling, fishing and hunting. He was active in VFW Post 2256 Benton and was president of Maverick Mixers square dancers. Bill enjoyed working with the youth of the community including coaching baseball and serving as a Cub Scout leader.
Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Danie and Mark Welsh.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Smart-Welsh; sons, Anthony Smart of Traskwood, Charlie Smart and wife Zaida, Paul Welsh and Gerald Welsh; daughters, Racheal Motes and husband Lee, Robin Dorsey and husband Randy, Melissa Reunard and husband Steve and siblings Randolph, Jeremiah and wife Donna, Anna May, Nita and husband, Kenneth and Romina and husband Paul; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, adopted children and extended family members.
Graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 7, at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander. The family will receive friends at Traskwood Community Center from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, July 6.
Arrangements are by North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St. in North Little Rock.
