Peggy G. Loy Wallace, 82, of Bryant passed away peacefully on Nov. 19.
The Wallaces moved to Bryant in 1963, building the first home in Tanglewood Acres. She loved her yard, and was happiest when caring for her family. She loved to make homemade rolls at every occasion, often sending them to neighbors. After her youngest son started school, she worked at Bryant Dairy King and later Bob’s Thriftway.
Peggy loved visiting with the customers and making new friends. She suffered a hemorrhagic stroke in 2007 and moved to Fox Ridge Estates in Bryant. She lived there until May 2012, when declining health made it necessary to move to Heartland Health and Rehab Center. Peggy suffered another stroke in November and was cared for at Saline Memorial Hospice House until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Wallace; her birth father, James Loy, and her stepfather who raised her, the Rev. Earnest W. Goodson.
She leaves behind her mother, Virginia E. Goodson of Ferndale; two sisters, Mary Garlington and husband Boyce, Ginny Blaylock and husband Buddy; five children, John Wallace, Velma Wallace, Libby Jones and husband Jim, Faith Robinson and husband Rick, Charles Wallace and wife Samme; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Triplett and husband David, Jessica Wallace, Greg Wallace and wife Hannah, Andrea Wallace, Jayce Jones and wife Sarah, Mandy Hamilton and husband, Chris, Josh Robinson, Brittany Robinson, Evan Wallace and Olivia Wallace.
