Nancy Rogers Silfies, 55,passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, in Little Rock. She was born in Benton on Nov. 29, 1957, to John Rogers and the late Jimmie Lee Rogers.
Nancy graduated from Benton HIgh School and earned bachelor' and master's degrees from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She was a teacher in the Bryant School District for about 10 years.
She chose to retire upon the birth of her children to focus on her family. She was of the Baptist faith.
Nancy remained optimistic and fought a courageous, five-year battle with cancer. "Mimi." as she was lovingly called,will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of over 25 years, Scott; two sons, Jeremy and Bradley and wife Beth and their son, Aiden, all of Little Rock; her father and stepmother, John and Dorothy Rogers of Benton; her brothers, Rick and wife Susan of Garland, Texas, Alan and wife Eldean and Neil, all of Benton; her stepsister. Carol Wear and husband Brent of Benton; her mother and father-in-law. Elwood and Dianne Silfies, her sister-in-law, Lisa Sankovsky and husband Eric of Bethlehem, Pa.; nieces and nephews, John and wife Erin and their daughter, Grace, Rebecca, Whitney, Lindsay, Jake and Casey; and other family and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Grant officiating Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Visitation is set for, 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the funeral home.
