Guy Walter Bass went to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 5. He was born March 5, 1938 in West Monroe, La., and spent his early years in Bauxite and Benton.
He could fix anything, especially computers, and worked 20 years for IBM, 18 years for Amdahl Corp., and five years for Storage Tek. Guy was proud to hold a degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and was ordained as a Southern Baptist minister in 1979. He was a faithful servant of God who served as a pastor, bivocational pastor and Sunday School teacher, and was a member of The Gideons International organization.
We will miss him dearly, especially his sense of humor, his expertise and his godly strength.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Murphy and Julia Margaret Bass; and his brother, Shannon Todd Bass.
He left behind his loving wife of 54 years, Janet (Richards) Bass; his daughter, Gina, of Norman, Okla.; his daughter, Cindy Amaral and her husband, Carlos, of Plano, Texas; his son, Brian, of Traskwood; nine adoring grandchildren; a brother Michael (Mike) of San Francisco, Calif.; a sister, Jocelyn (Jocie) Liebig of Eagle River; two sisters, Elizabeth "Liz" Bass and Sundae Fowler of Conway; and many close friends.
