The Churches Joint Council on Human Needs pancake breakfast is set for 7 a.m. Saturday at Salem United Methodist Church, 1647 Salem Road. Ticket prices are $6 for one person or $10 for two. Those interested may call 501-315-0599.
Proceeds will go to benefit CJCOHN to cover costs of installing flooring at the CJCOHN facility.
CJCOHN, which has its headquarters at 103 E. Elm St. in Benton, provides such items as clothing, food, medications, utility assistance and supplemental food delivery to senior citizens.
Referrals come from Social Services, The Counseling Clinic, Health Department, Saline Memorial Hospital, Red Cross, Central Arkansas Development Council, Senior Activity Center, day-care facilities, public schools, police and fire departments, the office of the governor, Arkansas Health Center and Little Rock hospitals.
CJCOHN reportedly is funded by member churches, private donations, United Way and occasional corporate and government gifts.
Member churches are Calvary Baptist, Centerpoint, Fellowship Bible, First Baptist, First Christian, First Presbyterian, First United Methodist of Benton, First United Methodist of Bryant, Highland Heights Baptist, Mt. Carmel United Methodist, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic, Parkview United Methodist, Salem United Methodist and St. Matthew's Episcopal.
