Arkansas sophomore Hunter Mickelson will not be a part of the Razorbacks basketball squad next year, according to his father. Darien Mickelson, Hunter's dad, said that his son will be transferring away from UA at the conclusion of the 2013 spring semester.
Mickelson set the freshman shot-blocking record two seasons ago with 72 while averaging 5.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in 548 minutes as a freshman.
"I thought when he was a little leaner, I thought he was really, really active," Head Coach MikeAnderson said in his March postseason wrap-up press conference. "I thought he was just more athletic. Just seemed like a lot quicker. One of the things I just know, when Hunter plays with the passion and plays with that aggressive mindset, he’s a really, really good player."
Other notable players that will not be in Razorback red next season are BJ Young and Marshawn Powell. The two ex-Hogs elected to join this year's NBA Draft in late June.
