Phyliss Jean Northcutt, age 78, of Benton, passed away peacefully at Alcoa Pines in Benton on Thursday, April 18, 2013.
She was born in Indianapolis, Ind., on May 6, 1934, to the late Clarence and Ruby Okey.
She was retired from the Little Rock School District and was of the Baptist faith.
After retirement she worked at Casey’s BBQ in Little Rock. She loved working in her flower beds, catching a good bargain at yard sales and thrift stores, and entertaining friends and loved ones during the holidays. She especially loved her grandkids.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, Walter Northcutt; and her sister, Joanne West.
Survivors include one son, Johnny Whitehead and wife Dale of North Little Rock; three daughters, Sherry Stricklin and husband Bobby and Debbie Edwards, all of Benton, and Brenda Dissinger of Mulberry; grandchildren, Christy Hyer and husband Oliver, April Hall and husband Daren, Andy Stricklin, Chris Thurber and wife Alaina, Deana Edwards, Shawn Whitehead, Stacey Harris and husband Austin and Ashley Tucker; great-grandchildren, Cory Stricklin, Zachary Hyer, Kristen and Erica Hall, Preston, Wesley, and Parker Stricklin, Lance Thurber, Laura Lee Hutcheson and husband Cody, Wyatt and Allisa Thurber, and Maverick and Axel Tucker; two great-great-grandchildren; a nephew, Jeff Heinley and wife Pam; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047) with Brother David Dyson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19, at the funeral home.
