Paul Michael Mortensen, 59, of Fayetteville died Aug. 8, 2013.
He was born June 9, 1954, in Racine, Wis., and was the son of Eric Edward and Patricia Carol Mortensen.
Paul received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arkansas in 1980. He loved architecture, working with clients and looking at the technical side of structures.
Paul will be remembered for his quick wit, gentle spirit and kind heart. He was a precious son, loving husband, and wonderful father. He was a member of the AIA, NCARB and the Golden Touch Craps Club. He was a certified University of Arkansas Razorback track official and an avid model railroad enthusiast. He loved to dance to his favorite local bands and listen to the blues.
He will be missed by his wife of 31 years, Laura; his son, David; a daughter, Leigh, and their spouses, Jackie and Jeremy. He is also survived by his parents, sister-in-law Kathy and husband John, nephews Mike and Dan and their wives, Melissa and Erin. Wisconsin relatives include his aunts, Vera, Joyce, and Nancy; cousins Kris, Kim, Julie and Jim, as well as many more loving family members.
Funeral is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Fellowship of the Hills Church, 2783 Mt. Comfort Road, Fayetteville. Following the memorial service, a get-together will be held at the Hog Haus restaurant's upstairs dining room.
Cremation arrangements were handled by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home and Crematory of Fayetteville.
