Phyllis Ann Bearden, age 63, of Benton died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, in Little Rock. She was born in Malvern on April 5, 1950, to Ralph Parrish and the late Emma Chancellor Parrish. She was reared and received her early education in the Malvern School District and graduated Malvern High School in 1968. She later obtained the level of Licensed Psychiatric Technician Nurse II from the Benton Services Center, now Arkansas Health Center. She was employed there for 33.5 years. Phyllis enjoyed making floral arrangements for weddings and holidays and was a wonderful cook. She was a Baptist by denomination.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Bearden of Benton, to whom she was married on Sept. 3, 1968, in Malvern; a son, Jeff Bearden of Benton; two daughters, Kim Bearden and fiancé Eric Hairston of Benton and Rhonda Vance and husband Jeff of Sheridan; her father, Ralph Parrish of Malvern; her brother, Ed Parrish and wife Julie of Malvern; four grandchildren, Tiffany Maxwell (Zack), Justin Wilson, Joshua Wilson, and Brianna Vance; one great-grandchild, Hayevn Maxwell; and a lifelong friend, Marcia Haney Rogers.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8.
Her funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home, with Rev. Vance Nutt officiating. The body will be cremated and buried in Ten Mile Cemetery at a later date.
The family will be at 714 Pine Bluff St in Malvern.
