Alice “Charlene” Roberts, 70, of Bryant passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at her home.
She was born July 20, 1943 in Chandler, Okla., to the late Charles William Ussery and Vera LaRue (Reed) Tyler.
Mrs. Roberts was a registered nurse at Baptist Hyperbaric Unit and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Frank Roberts; one daughter, Jullie Irene Haynes; and one granddaughter, Shanna Rayne Ramos.
She is survived by three daughters, Shannon Jeannette Covert of Lonsdale, Jeannie Charmaine Roberts of Bryant, and Evelyn Joyce Stock of Jacksonville; five sisters, Lynda Runyon of Bradford, Glenda Brooks of Searcy, Tujuana Knight of Beebe, Donna Boyles of Hot Springs and Regina Ussery of Chandler, Okla.; three brothers, Donnie, Charles and Tony Ussery, all of Chandler, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Shamara Edmonson, Marshall McCallister, Latacha Ramos, Christopher Munoz, Nathanial Covey, Daniel Covey, John Morales, and Joseph Morales; and eight great-grandchildren, Dylan Garner, Jacqulyn Edmonson, Karissa Edmonson, Ty Willis, Mya Blake, Lillie Ivy, Claire Proffett and Maddox Bouer.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at Otter Creek with Bishop Doug Smith, Brother Kenneth Smith and Brother Richard Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
Serving as pallbearers are Dennis Brooks, Don Covert, Marshall McCallister, Richard Dixon, John Runyon, Keith Knight, Christopher Munoz and Daniel Covey. Nathaniel Covey, John Morales, and Joseph Morales will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047).
