BREAKING: Threat made against Benton School District

According to an audio message sent to parents in the Benton School District today, a threat was made against the school in some capacity.

Dr. Mike Skelton, superintendent of the district, said that there is no reason to be alarmed at this time.

"We have been made aware of a threat that is being dealt with by the district and the Benton Police Department. The threat has been removed and is under control at this time," Skelton said in his recorded message.

It is unknown at this time what type of threat was made.
