Filing period begins Thursday

Beginning at noon Thursday until noon on March 1, Saline County residents can begin filing for county and township offices at the Vote Here Center.
All positions are open for filing, said Saline County Clerk Doug Curtis.

Both Saline County party headquarters will be open during the filing period to help candidates fill out required forms and representatives from the parties will collect filing fees as well.

The Saline County Republican Headquarters, located at 125 N. Market St., will be open from noon to 4:15 p.m. Feb. 22; 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Feb. 23, 26, 27 and 28 and 8 to 11:45 a.m. March 1.

The Democratic Party of Saline County Headquarters, located at 101 S. Market St., will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 22; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 23, 26 and 28 and 9 a.m. to noon March 1.
On Feb. 27, the Democratic Party Headquarters will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m.

After the forms are completed, the candidates are required to file forms with the Saline County Clerk's Office before the filing period deadline.

The ballot drawing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on March 9 at the Vote Here Center.
