Lee E. Jackson

Lee E. Jackson, 75, of Mabelvale, died March 5.
He was born May 16, 1936 to Lon and Rose Whittenberg Jackson in Sardis.  He graduated from Bryant High School and was a veteran, having served in the 4th Armored Division in Schwaebisch Gmuend, Germany for two years.  He was a skilled carpenter and built a great number of beautiful homes for people who started out as strangers, but who soon became friends.  Throughout his life, his word was his bond. He was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church where he had been a member of the Board of Trustees and the Building Committee. He served faithfully as an usher to the church he loved. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Hulabar Trail Hunting Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ruth Garner and by three brothers, William, Carl, and Ralph Jackson. 
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Seamon Jackson; daughter, Karen Heer and husband, Mike of Mabelvale; son, Mark Jackson and wife, Carolyn of Murfreesboro, TN; two loving and much loved grandchildren, Rachael and Ryan Heer; two sisters, Louise Parks and Mae Sheridan, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Sardis United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Dickinson officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. 
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047).
