Man accused of carjacking with knife is arrested

The Saline County Sheriff's Office has ended the search for an Alexander man who allegedly was involved in a carjacking while wielding a weapon.
Lt. Mike Frost said that after an anonymous phone call, 33-year-old Morris Raymond Combee was found at a residence on Springhill Road in Bryant. Combee reportedly was taken into custody without incident and is being held without bond, pending a court hearing.
Combee is facing two counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and theft of property.
According to a sheriff's report, deputies responded to the 800 block of Jean Grant Drive back in June and two women said Combee threatened them with a knife and then stole a woman's 2002 Kia Sadona mini-van. One of the women said Combee also attempted to steal money from her and threatened her with a knife when she refused.
The report said a neighbor was told by a child that a man was threatening women with a knife and he approached Combee with a baseball bat. The neighbor reportedly swung the bat at Combee, but missed. Combee reportedly took the bat from the neighbor and fled in the mini-van.
Lt. Scotty Courtney, public information for the Saline County Sheriff's Office, said the mini-van was found later at the Harvest Foods store on Arch Street in East End.
