Rose Marie Heinzl

Rose Marie Heinzl, 70, of Belleville, Ill., died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at her residence. She was born Oct. 10, 1941, in East St. Louis, Ill.
Rose Marie was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Belleville, Il. She graduated from St. Elizabeth's Grade School, St. Teresa Academy in 1959 and St. Joseph's School of Nursing , Alton, Ill., in 1962. She worked as a registered nurse for three years at Alton State Hospital in Alton, Ill.
She was formerly from Benton and retired from Saline Memorial Hospital in 1994. She was a huge fan of the Arkansas Travelers Baseball Team. She organized the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, East St. Louis, Ill., yearly reunions.
Rose Marie or “Aunt Rose.” as she was known, was an avid Grizzly fan and she became the Grizzly Fan Sweetheart of the year. She was voted as the No. 1 Fan and she often hung the “K’s” for the Grizzly games.
She was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Edna Mae (Sorgea) Heinzl; and her niece, Dr. Catherine (Heinzl) Speedie.
She is survived by her three brothers, Jospeh F. Heinzl Jr. and wife Sharon of Belleville, Ill., Raymond R Heinzl and wife JoAnn of Belleville, Ill., and Charles T. Heinzl and wife Barbara of Swansea, Ill.; loving nieces and nephews, Nancy Lane and husband Richard, Audrey Morgan and husband Harold, Angela Waterbury and husband Mathew, Jeff Heinzl and wife Dr. Karen VanAnrooy, Thomas Speedie, Steven Heinzl and wife Jennifer, Suzanne Mullins and husband Marshall, Christopher Aubuchon, Eric Heinzl and fiancée Katie Remelius, and Kyle Heinzl; great-nieces and nephews, Amanda, Jason, Graham, Emma and Nolan; two great-great nieces, Olivia and Asylan; and many dear friends and relatives.
A Life Celebration Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan.13, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church with Father David Darin  officiating. Upon Rose Marie’s request, cremation was to be held.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 13, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill.
Rose Marie’s wishes were to have family and friends make donations to their favorite charity or cause in memory of her life.
